Beer and mustard glazed ham

bone-in ham, about 1.5 kg to 2.5 kg (3.3 to 5.5 lbs) | 1 | |
yellow mustard | 30 ml (2 tablespoons) | |
red ale | 330 ml (1 ⅓ cup) | |
grainy mustard (optional) | 30 ml (2 tablespoons) | |
maple syrup (optional) | 30 ml (2 tablespoons) | |
water | 250 ml (1 cup) |
Directions
- Position the baking rack in the middle of the oven. Preheat the oven to 225 °F (110 °C).
- Cut the hard rind off of the ham (optional).
- Place the ham in a large cast-iron pan and brush with the mustard.
- Pour the beer and maple syrup around the ham. Add 1 cup of water and cover.
- Bake for 2 to 3 hours.
- Remove the ham from the pan. Place on a serving platter. Serve hot or cold.
