Ingredients

  Ingredients Quantitites
vegetable oil 30 ml (2 tablespoons)
medium ground beef 450g (1 lb)
onion, chopped 1
celery, thinly sliced 125 ml (1/2 cup)
bean sprouts 1 lb
carrots, thinly sliced 125 ml (1/2 cup)
soy sauce 30 ml (2 tablespoons)
lemon juice 15 ml (1 tablespoon)
sesame seeds (optional) To taste
roasted peanuts (optional) To taste

Directions

  1. Soak, then drain the bean sprouts. Set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, brown the ground beef in the vegetable oil with the onion, celery and carrots until the meat is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
  3. Add the bean sprouts, soy sauce and lemon juice.
  4. Continue cooking until the bean sprouts are tender, but still have a bit of crunch.
  5. Before serving, sprinkle with sesame seeds and roasted peanuts, if desired.
