Ingredients

vegetable oil | 30 ml (2 tablespoons) | |
medium ground beef | 450g (1 lb) | |
onion, chopped | 1 | |
celery, thinly sliced | 125 ml (1/2 cup) | |
bean sprouts | 1 lb | |
carrots, thinly sliced | 125 ml (1/2 cup) | |
soy sauce | 30 ml (2 tablespoons) | |
lemon juice | 15 ml (1 tablespoon) | |
sesame seeds (optional) | To taste | |
roasted peanuts (optional) | To taste |
Directions
- Soak, then drain the bean sprouts. Set aside.
- In a large saucepan, brown the ground beef in the vegetable oil with the onion, celery and carrots until the meat is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
- Add the bean sprouts, soy sauce and lemon juice.
- Continue cooking until the bean sprouts are tender, but still have a bit of crunch.
- Before serving, sprinkle with sesame seeds and roasted peanuts, if desired.
